The Monroe City Panthers traveled to Macon on October 9. The Panthers were able to tackle the Tigers, winning 30-7. Head Coach David Kirby shared in the excitement of the team’s victory, stating, “I was pleased at how well our Defense played on Friday night.  Macon has some very dynamic wide receivers and we were able to eliminate the big play.  Offensively, we played very solid on the line of scrimmage.  We were able to sustain drives, control the clock, and put points on the board.”

The first half of the game opened with the Panthers on top, first with Joshua Talton finding the end zone with a one yard run. Next, Macon would score their only touchdown in the game during the second quarter and kicking for the extra point. Monroe City would take the lead with Deion White receiving a 36-yard pass from Kyle Hays, making the touchdown with the two-point conversion being good, making the score 14-7.

The Panthers would continue to lead through the second half, stopping Macon defensively from advancing down the field. In the fourth quarter, Josiah Talton would score a 3-yard touchdown run, followed by Joshua Talton finding his way to the end zone with a 59-yard run and the two-point conversion being good each time.

The October 16 game against Clark Count has been canceled.
