Deion White stands ready for the play.

The Monroe City Panthers welcomed the Van-Far Indians on October 29, opening up the road to the play-offs with the first district game. It didn’t take long for the Panthers to gain a substantial lead, winning the game 70-16. Head Coach David Kirby stated, “I was very proud of the way all our kids played.  Our starters had limited offensive and defensive snaps and were still very effective in making plays. Our goals stay the same; play fast, physical, and fundamentally sound.”

The Panthers will host Brentwood for the semi-final game on Friday, November 5 at 7 p.m. Coach Kirby stated of the upcoming game, “Brentwood is a power running team that plays aggressive defense.  We will need to read our keys and flow fast to the ball.”
