Senior Night

The Monroe City R-1 School District recognized the 2019 Seniors participating in football, band, cheerleading and cross country prior to the football game on October 25. The night was designated as Senior Night for these students and athletes. The school expressed their sincere thanks to the parents of the students for allowing them to be a part of the programs.

Head Coach David Kirby presented certificates of appreciation to the parents of the senior football members, including: Keenan Batsell, Antwuan Battle, Danny Dennison, Max Hays, Dalton McAfee, Jonathon Mendez-Martinez, Quintin Ranabargar, Danielle Horner and Cora Morrison. Coach Kirby commented on his senior athletes stating, “This group of seniors has been a very fun group to work with. They are constantly trying to improve their game.  They work hard and play to the best of their abilities each and every time they take the field.”

Band Director Tim Clasby presented certificates of appreciation to the parents of the senior band members, including: Will Crain, Garrett Lucas and Elizabeth Montgomery.

Cheerleading Coach Heather Wheeler presented certificates of appreciation to the parents of the senior cheerleading squad, including: Jaycee Baker, Elizabeth Montgomery and Reagan Woolen. Coach Wheeler shared, “I love these kids as if they are my own. I’m excited for their future. Can’t wait to watch them grow and prosper.”

Head Cross Country Coach presented a certificate of appreciation to the parents of the senior cross country team which was Bailey Hays. Coach Mulvaney stated, “Bailey has been a dominant figure on our track and field teams for the last four years, and was an integral part of why we tried to get cross country here at Monroe City. She is someone that is known throughout the area, not just because of her talent, but because she is an amazing competitor and opponent. Anyone that meets Bailey knows how great of a person and athlete she is, and her leadership and effort will be missed next year.”
