On April 19, The Monroe City Boys and Girls teams both took first place out of eight teams in the Dennis Hancock Invitational hosted at MCHS.The event is held in remembrance of the late Coach Dennis Hancock. Each year an award is given in his name for the top pole vaulter in the boys and girls competition. This year, Connor Pfaff and Carly Youngblood, both of Monroe City, were the recipients of the award.

Placing in the Invitational boys team was: Waylon DeGrave in the high jump placing second jumping 1.72m, placed third in triple jump with a jump of 12.29m and in long jump placed second jumping 5.64m; Jaylynn Countrymann in the high jump placing fourth jumping 1.52; Connor Pfaff placed first in pole vault vaulting 3.35m and fifth in javelin throwing 35.53; Korbyn Cheek placed seventh in pole vault vaulting 2.15; Cody Wagner placed fifth in long jump jumping 5.28m and eighth in the 100m dash with a time of 13.23 ; Josiah Talton placed second in triple jump with a jump of 12.57m; Joshua Talton placed first in discus with a throw of 43.71; in the 4x800m Relay Jackson Wheeler, Logan Lucas, Korbyn Cheek and Kabott Harlan placed first with a time of 9:01.04; Aaron Plumb placed second in the 110m hurdles with a time of 17.56 and third place in the 300m hurdles with a time of 50.16; Cameron Jones placed second in the 100m dash running a time of 11.99; Joshua Talton, Cameron Jones, Kyle Hays and Josiah Talton placed second in the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:37.20; Kabott Harlan placed first in the 1600m race with a time of 5:00.07 and first in the 800m race with a time of 2:11.44; Logan Lucas placed second in the 1600m race with a time of 5:04.93 and first in the 3200m race with a time of 11:27.61; Elmer Martinez, Joshua Talton, Waylon DeGrave and Cameron Jones placed first in the 4x100m race with a time of 46.50; Kyle Hays placed fourth in the 400m race running with a time of 58.47 and eighth in javelin throwing 28.51m; Keith Utterback placed fourth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 52.59; Kaleb Griffin placed third in the 800m race with a time of 2:20.03 and third in the 3200m race with a time of 12:26.76; Josiah Talton placed second in the 200m race with a time of 24.55; Cameron Jones placed fourth in the 200m race with a time of 25.53; and Joshua Talton, Josiah Talton, Jaylyn Countryman and Kabott Harlan placed first in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:16.02.

 Placing in the Invitational girls team was: Kylee Feldman placed third in the high jump with a jump of 1.35m; Carly Youngblood placed first in pole vault vaulting 3.13m, third in the 300m hurdles with a time of 54.93 and second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.75; Riley Fortner placed second in pole vault vaulting 2.13m; Lauren Smith placed seventh in the long jump with a jump of 4.14 and fourth in the 800m race with a time of 2:52.83; Taylor Pfaff placed third in the triple jump with a jump of 8.92m and eighth in the 400m race with a time of 1:16.92; Haley Hagan placed sixth in shot put throwing 7.63m; Lauren Smith, Hannah Wheeler, Ella Hays and Emmalee Williams placed first in the 4x800m relay with a time of 10:57.04; Mya Gottman placed eighth in 100m hurdles with a time of 22.35; Carly Youngblood, Abigail Smith, Lexie Birt and Emmalee Williams placed first in the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:56.88; Ella Hays placed second in the 1600m race with a time of 6:17.08 and second in the 3200m race with a time of 13:48.92; Hannah Wheeler placed fifth in the 1600m race with a time of 6:40.22; Emily Freidank, Emilee Lehenbauer, Mya Gottman and Jocelyn Clark placed sixth in the 4x100m relay with a time of 1:00.08; Abigail Smith placed second in the 400m race with a time of 1:08.98 and third in the 200m dash with a time of 30.51; Lexie Birt placed second 300m hurdles with a time of 50.94 and sixth in javelin throwing 27.95m, Emmalee Williams placed second in the 800m race with a time of 2:33.40; Isabella Stupavsky placed fifth in the 3200m race with a time of 15:35.52; and Abigail Smith, Lauren Smith, Lexie Birt and Emmalee Williams placed first in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:34.69.
