Monroe City Lady Panthers take third place in Louisiana Tournament on September 25.

Monroe City Lady Panthers boarded the bus and headed to Louisiana for Tournament action on September 25. The Panthers showed tough determination but came up short placing third in the tournament, winning two shut-out games against Louisiana and Van-Far and losing one to Elsberry.

The first game was against Louisiana. Pratt stepped up to the mound ready to deliver, leading the Lady Panthers in a shut-out game of 9-0. Pratt got the game rolling early on the scoreboard with a single, scoring two runs with a total of 3 RBI’s total, followed by two more runs by the Lady Panthers and in the second inning and another in the third. In the fourth inning, three runs were scored, ending the game in the fifth 9-0.

Next, Monroe City met Elsberry on the field. Elsberry was able to gain an early lead and gain victory over the Lady Panthers 7-3.

Audri Youngblood was on the pitching mound for the first six innings, surrendering three runs on eight hits, followed by Kailynn Fuemmeler providing relief for one inning. Monroe City had a total of 11 hits and 4 errors in the game.

Playing Van-Far for third place, the Panthers showed off their offensive talent with another shut-out game, winning 10-0 for the Third Place Title.

Audri Youngblood was able to connect the bat, scoring 2 runs early in the game, followed by gaining a considerable lead in the second inning with 4 runs. Carly Youngblood swinging into home run territory with 3 RBI’s in the game, and adding a double by Audri Youngblood.
