The Fifth Annual 4-Perosn Scramble Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, June 21 at 12 p.m. The tournament is held to benefit the Monroe City Boys Basketball programs. The event will be held at the Mosswood Meadows Golf Course with registration beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Head Coach Brock Edris shared the importance of the tournament, stating, “Our golf tournament helps support our basketball program as a fundraiser to provide assistance to our high school, middle school, and Holy Rosary teams needs each season. Some needs each year include gear, shirts, basketballs, equipment and meals. It’s an exciting time to gather with former Monroe City alumni and supporters of our basketball program.”
Edris explained his thankfulness of support from the community, adding, “Our basketball team is also involved to assist teams with an opportunity to improve their score. Meyer Implement and F&M Bank have agreed to once again provide a Hole-N-One prize on Hole #6. We are thankful for the support from sponsors and participants over the past four years of this tournament. We are fortunate to have a beautiful golf course like Mosswood Meadows in Monroe City to host this event.”
The prize money and flights is to be determined by the number of teams participating. Anyone wanting to participate can choose from an individual registration, team registration, hole sponsorship or tournament sponsorship. See page 10 for registration form and mailing information. Edris shared to those who are signing up to participate, stating, “I can be reached by my cell phone to reserve a team or the form can be mailed. I will need to know each person’s shirt size in advance so I can place orders. Thank you and Go Panthers.”
