Panthers win over South Shelby

The Monroe City Panthers hosted the South Shelby Cardinals on January 29 for a Clearance Cannon Conference game. The Panthers took the lead early in the first quarter winning the game with a final score of 75-30.

The first-half of the game Blake Hays scored a game high of 17 points, dropping 3 three-point shots in the goal for the Panthers. Three pointers seemed to be a team effort as C.E. Talton, Antwuan Battle, Joshua Talton, Ethan Lehenbauer and Logan Buhlig each added three point shots.

Scoring for the Panthers were Hays with 17 points, Buhlig with 14 points, C.E. Talton had 11 points, Bryce Stark added 8 points, Joshua Talton had 6 points, Lehenbauer had 5 points, Jadon Underhill added 4 points, Battle had 3 points, Josiah Talton and Kaelin Kendrick-O’Bryan had 2 points each, along with Dalton McAfee scoring 1 point.

The Panthers will host Centralia at home for their annual Homecoming game on February 8. Then the Panthers will travel to Brookfield on February 12.
