Wylena Masterson; 1932-2019

Wylena Masterson 86 of Hannibal, passed away Tuesday, July 09, at the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia. 

She was born December 11, 1932 in Ralls County, Missouri the daughter of Fred and Geneva (Norris) Morgan.

Wylena was a graduate of Monroe City High School, Monroe City.  She was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church, Philadelphia.  She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, crocheting and researching family genealogy.  Most of all Wylena enjoyed spending time with her husband Jim of 68 years and visiting with her family and friends.

She married James Richard Masterson August 06, 1950, he survives of the home.

Also surviving is one daughter Wuanita M. Hathaway (Marvin), Monroe City.  Daughter in law Cherry Masterson, Hannibal.  Four grandchildren William Masterson (Amy), Beth Ann Masterson, Adair Hathaway (Keri) and Heather Utterback (Andy). Also survived by five step grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Dan Masterson, one sister Emma Ruth Donath and one brother Fred Morgan, Jr.

Funeral services were held 12 p.m. Friday, July 12, at the Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City, Rev. Roger Stevens and Rev. Tim Stevens served as the officiates.  Entombment will take place at the St. Jude Mausoleum, Monroe City.  Visitation was held from 10 a.m. Friday until time of services at the Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City.  Active pallbearers were Marvin Hathaway, Adair Hathaway, William Masterson, John Morgan, Russell Morgan and Mark Tate.  Honorary pallbearers will be all of Mrs. Masterson’s grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  Memorials have been suggested to the St. Jude Mausoleum.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Garner Funeral Home & Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri.  Online condolences can be made at garnerfuneralchapel.com
