Virginia Ann (Paul) Hill, 78, of 1955 Hepperman Road, Wentzville, MO, died at home while sleeping, Dec 6, at 5:30 p.m. Born in Monroe City, and later moving to Hunnewell, the eldest of two daughters, she attended Holy Rosary School through the twelve grades. She became an accomplished piano and organist while at that school.
In 1963-64 she met and married Lawrence J. Hill of Valhalla, NY while she was working at Indiana Institute of Technology, Ft. Wayne, IN. They have three sons, Douglas Lawrence, Olive Branch, MS; Daniel James and Richard William, both of Wentzville. There are three grandchildren, Hannah Hill, Rolla; Heather Hill and Stone Hill.
In the 1970’s and 80’s, Virginia worked for Citibank/Citicorp as a Mortgage Banking Auditor. Her hobbies were art and horticulture, teaching sixth, seventh and eighth grade art classes at St. Mary’s School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Virginia leaves behind her sister Rose Shuck of Hunnewell, many nieces and
nephews in the greater Monroe City area and many friends and good memories of Monroe City.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, at the Garner Funeral Chapel, Monroe City, Fr. Greg Oligschlaeger will officiate, burial will be held at the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Monroe City. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of services at Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City. Pallbearers will be Tom Gill, Bill Couch, Bill Gill, Mark Shuck, Mike Shuck and Tully Tonsor. Memorials have been suggested to the Holy Rosary School.
