Rosie Mayfield, 67, of Monroe City, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 24, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital, Hannibal.
She was born August 26, 1954 in Hannibal, the daughter of John Henry and Edna Mayfield.
Rosie was a 1973 graduate of Monroe City High School, Monroe City. Rosie was a Christian by faith. Rosie worked as a CNA for the Monroe City Manor Care Center in Monroe City for 27 years before retiring. She enjoyed decorating, scrapbooking and crafts. Most of all Rosie enjoyed being around her children and grandkids who she loved very much.
Survivors include two sons Corey Mayfield, Chance Mayfield and one daughter Megan Mayfield all of Monroe City. Her siblings Virginia Douglas (Charles) of Macon, Gloria Lampkin (William) of Macon, Lisa Mayfield of Mexico, Sharon Santana of Houston, Texas, Terry Mayfield of Monroe City, Robert, John and Mickey Mayfield of Atlanta, Georgia. Rosie has 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Edna Mayfield, siblings Caroline, Johnny Raye, Wanda, Phillip, Timothy, Henry and infant grandson Kingston.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, December 2, at the Garner Funeral Chapel, Monroe City. Burial will follow at the St. Judes Cemetery, Monroe City. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Thursday until time of services at the Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Garner Funeral Home & Chapel, Monroe City.
