Nancy Yates

Nancy Lucille Redman Yates, 68, of Monroe City, passed away at 12:23 p.m. Monday, October 14, at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, October 18, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Monroe City. Father Greg Oligschlaeger will officiate.

Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Monroe City.

Friends and Family are invited to Nancy’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 17, at James O’Donnell Life Celebration Home in Monroe City, with a Parish Rosary service beginning at 3:45 p.m. A Parish scripture service will be held following the visitation at 7 p.m. by Deacon Mike Long. The family is being served by the James O’Donnell Life Celebration Home in Monroe City.

Nancy was born June 20, 1951, in Hannibal, to Richard E. and Mary Lucille Robinson Redman.

She was married to Anthony Joseph Yates on December 26, 1970, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Monroe City. He survives.

Survivors also include her children, Paula Karr (Raymond) of Monroe City, Dempsey Yates (Heather) of Sapulpa, OK, one brother, John Lloyd Redman (Jeanette)of Monroe City, five sisters, Anne Mallett, Edina, Carol Sue Johnson of Monroe City, Barbara Kendrick of Monroe City, Mary Beth Adams, of Monroe City, Melody Hoover of Monroe City, 6 Grandchildren, Kody Karr (Dahrea), Dawson Karr, Collin Lagle, Lily Yates, Paxton Yates, and Jack Yates, and two great-children, Kade Karr, and Caroline Karr.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one still born daughter, Kimberly Yates, grandson Trevor Lagle, two brothers, Martin Redman, Butch Redman, and two sisters, Lois Redman, Jean Strange.

Nancy was a graduate of Monroe City High School.

Nancy worked as a bank officer at HNB Bank until her retirement.  Nancy was a great cook and made the best homemade bread and hot rolls.  She enjoyed gardening and quilting as well.  Nancy was an accomplished musician and played the piano for many years at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Most of all Nancy cherished the moments she shared with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Nancy was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Monroe City.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary School, Monroe City.

Pallbearers are Buzz Shaver, Jeff Albus, Brad Kurz, Neil Mallett, Steve Yates, and Tim Kurz.
