Marjorie June Kuntemeyer, 87, of Monroe City, passed away at 9:36 p.m., Monday, November 18, at Monroe City Manor Care Center in Monroe City.
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, November 22, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Monroe City. Rev. Scott A. Salo will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra.
Friends and family were invited to Marjorie’s visitation which was held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 21, at the James O’Donnell Life Celebration Home.
Marjorie was born June 4, 1932, in Palmyra, Missouri to John Henry Bestman and Lena Henrietta Frohn.
She was married to Howard Kuntemeyer on November 16, 1952 in Palmyra. He preceded her in death May 20, 2010.
Survivors include three children, Roger Kuntemeyer (Carolyn)of Hilo, HI, Janet Marshall (Paul) of Prescott Valley, AZ, Joyce Hancock (Scott) of Monroe City, one brother, Donald Bestman (Charlotte) of The Villages, Florida, five grandchildren Jaime Apaka (Kensy), Victoria Kuntemeyer, Richard Kuntemeyer, Caitlyn Kuntemeyer, Kimberly Schutt (Luke), three great-grandchildren, Lillah Schutt, William Schutt, and Ava Apaka, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 sister Anne Denish, 2 brothers, Horace Bestman, and John Bestman.
Marjorie was a graduate of Palmyra High School. She was a homemaker. Marjorie enjoyed family gatherings for the holidays and spending time with her family and extended family. Marjorie liked to do needle work, cross stitch, knit, crochet and quilt.
Marjorie was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Monroe City.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or Monroe City Nutrition Center.
Pallbearers will be David Lorenson, Eric Keller, Brian Hancock, Jared Clark, Luke Schutt, and Dennis Lorenson.
