Jon Kevin Jones was called to his home in heaven on Thursday, June 25. Kevin was born to Jack and Elsie Jones on September 14, 1961 in Hannibal.
Kevin resided in Monroe City and attended Monroe City grade school and high school. After high school, he worked at The Sheltered Workshop and the Chevrolet dealership for many years and loved going to work and enjoyed the people he worked with.
Kevin could express his love with a look and his wonderful smile. There are people that had many blessings that Kevin never had, however throughout his life he maintained a positive attitude. He inspired us all in that respect. Those that knew him, knew Kevin had a kind and gentle soul and was one of the happiest people you will ever know.
He loved the family farm and hanging out there. You could usually catch him riding the four-wheeler or up in the deer stand. He also looked forward to adventures with his good friend Will and appreciated all the caregivers that helped him throughout the years.
Kevin taught us all immeasurable lessons in patience and that the simplest things in life can truly bring you the most joy.
Kevin was found unresponsive on June 7. Cause of death remains uncertain.
Kevin had a special place in many people’s hearts. He now will Rest in Peace with his Mother, Elsie who preceded him in death by 13 days, and other family and friends.
In addition to his Father, Jack, Kevin is survived by two wonderful brothers who were always there for him until the end, Dave (Kim), Steve (Jeanne), nieces and nephews, and aunts, uncle and cousins.
