Glenn Allen Washington, 59, of Hannibal, formerly of Monroe City passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at Levering Regional Healthcare Center in Hannibal.
A Funeral Ceremony will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2023, at the O’Donnell-Thurman Life Celebration Home in Monroe City. Pastor Paul Washington will officiate. Burial will be at St. Jude’s Cemetery in Monroe City.
Friends and Family are invited to Glenn’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2023 at O’Donnell-Thurman Life Celebration Home in Monroe City.
Glenn was born May 29, 1963, in Monroe City to Charles George and Maggie Naomi Rice Washington. He was married to Cathy Lynn Hawkins on February 16, 1985. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2017.
Survivors include his Mother, Maggie Naomi Washington, Children, Nakisha Holliday of Hannibal, April (Raheem) Oliver of Des Moines, IA, Shantel Washington of St. Louis, Marcus (Kendra) Washington of Troy, Dominique (Amy) Washington of Hanniba, Brothers, Paul (Rita) Washington of Monroe City, Edward (Leslie) Washington of Monroe City, Michael (Cathy) Washington of Columbia, Sister, Charletta Washington of Monroe City, Grandchildren Kareana, Aleah, Mason, Dasean, Landon, Tatyana, Cameron, Devon, Nyla, Lynnlee, Naomi, Jakobe, Samiah, Xavier, Kiki, Alysia, Summer, and great grandchild, Brielle, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glenn was preceded in death by his Father, Charles George Washington, Brothers, Larry Joe Washington, Nathaniel Washington, and Charles George Washington, Jr.
Glenn attended the Promise Land Church in Monroe City.
Away from work, Glenn enjoyed sitting on his front porch feeding the squirrels or fishing out at South Lake or Indian Creek enjoying the day with family and friends. At times Glenn would try his hand with a lottery scratcher to test his luck. He loved pickles of any kind, but the dill Big Papas were his favorite. Glenn was a great cook with his specialty being his fried chicken which he was known to cook day after day. Catching up on some sports were some of Glenn’s favorites, The St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, and Los Angeles Lakers being the teams he followed the most. Most of all he took care of his family and was a good husband and father and will be dearly missed.
Pallbearers will be TJ Hawkins, Michael Washington, Marcus Washington, Dominique Washington, Cameron Holliday, Desean Washington.
Memorial contributions may be made to O’Donnell-Thurman Life Celebration Home to assist with funeral expenses.
