Gerald Owen (Jerry) Scobee, 66, of Monroe City, passed away Monday, August 31, at his home.
He was born March 21, 1954 in Mexico, the son of James Russell and Kathryn Sue Every Scobee.
Jerry was a graduate of Monroe City High School, Monroe City. He served his country in the Missouri Army National Guard. He worked for Leeser Trucking Company of Palmyra, as a "Truck Driver". He enjoyed hunting and watching his grandchildren participate in their school activities. Jerry will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
He married Vicki Lynn Cober, March 12, 1976, she preceded him in death August 15, 2017.
Survivors include his mother Kathryn Scobee of Monroe City. One son Jason Scobee of Monroe City. One daughter Jacki Brown, Columbia. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Logan Minter, Kadi Minter, CJ Minter and Keyli White, along with two nieces Kathy Yager, Sarah and one nephew James Shrader. He was preceded in death by his father, wife, one sister Verna Shrader and one brother Jim Scobee.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, September 04, at the Garner Funeral Chapel, Monroe City, Rev. Steve Goughnour will officiate. Burial will be held at the St. Jude Cemetery, Monroe City. Visitation will from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City. Pallbearers will be Logan Minter, CJ Minter, Tim Layton, Gary McElroy, Rick Hager and Harland Greeves. Memorials have been suggested to the Monroe City R.I Schools Booster Club. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Garner Funeral Home & Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri.
