Christopher Leroy Baker, 61 of Monroe City, (formerly of the state of California), passed away Saturday, September 4, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital, Hannibal.
He was born April 13, 1960 in Ceres, California the son of Donald and Catherine Edna Studerbaker Fortner, Sr.
Christopher was a gifted musician and loved to play the guitar. Music was his life and he enjoyed sharing it whenever possible. He also loved to draw and pencil art. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his birth mother Lonnie Bartley of Bartley, California, two sons Christopher Leroy Baker, Jr. and Jordan Baker both of California, one brother Peter Bartley, four sisters Robin Bartley (David) of Noel, Missouri; Patricia Edmonds of Thorton, Colorado; Anita Edmonds of Anthony, Kansas; and Joy Black of Ceres, California. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers Donald Fortner, Jr. and John Edmonds.
