Carl Denver Summers, 82, of Monroe City, (formerly of San Antonio, Texas) passed away Friday, October 18, at the Monroe City Manor, Monroe City.
He was born In Brookline Station, Missouri October 19, 1936 the son of Clive and Eunice I. Kelly Summers.
Carl was a truck driver throughout his life. He was married to Elma Clark April 25, 1965 to September 1975.
Survivors include one son Austin Lynn Summers out of the marriage; step-children Melinda Dexter and Richard, of Monroe City; Brenda Shortridge and Jim, of Stoutsville; Kevin Ragar, of Palmyra; and Tina Begley, of Philadelphia and numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving one sister Lavern Boska and husband Morris of Madison. Four nephews Ray Berry and wife Lyssa of Bethel; Michael Berry and wife Colleen of Fenton, Iowa; Darrin Summers and wife Deana of Taylor, and Justin Boska of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Lenora Berry Allen, one brother in law Carl Berry, one brother Ralph Summers, one sister in law Ann summers and his significant other of 43 years Urma Sue Ragar.
Graveside Funeral Services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 22 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Hunnewell, Rev. Steve Goughnour will officiate. Pallbearers will be Darrin Summers, Justin Boska, Jason Dexter, Keith Shortridge, Chance Begley and Brandon Shortridge.
