Betty L. Tewell, 94 of Hannibal, passed away Thursday, May 21, at the Beth Haven Nursing Home, Hannibal.
She was born May 04, 1926 in Monroe City, the daughter of Virgil Bailey and Ethel Goldie Stewart Burditt.
Betty was raised of the Christian faith. She graduated from Monroe City High School, Monroe City. She previously worked for Henderson Produce Company, Monroe City and also Western Printing, Hannibal. Betty enjoyed quilting in her spare time and was a member of the quilting club. Most of all Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending all their sporting events.
She married Charles (Charlie) J. Tewell December 11, 1954 he preceded her in death December 20, 2015.
Survivors include one daughter Cindy Hammock (Terry) Hannibal, and one son Larry Tewell of Mexico. Six grandchildren Becky Spurlin (Tony), Matthew Tewell, Charles "Chip" Tewell (Danielle), Nathan Hammock (Gabrielle), Sara Olson (Caleb) and Jacob Hammock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sistrer Thelma Robinson.
Graveside Funeral Services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, at the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Monroe City. Memorials may be made to the Honor Flight Program.
