District Registration Day will be held on August 1 at the Monroe City R-1 High School for grades PreK-12 from 12-6 p.m.

The Monroe City R-1 School District is preparing for the 2019-20 school year. The first day of school begins August 15 at 8 a.m. with early release on both August 15 and 16 at 12:50 p.m. The first full-day will be August 19, with students being released at 3:06 p.m.

Registration for students in available now online and the school will host a District Registration Day on August 1 at the High School from 12-6 p.m. for all grades. All grades preK-12 will register at the same place in the High School. Parents do not need to visit the elementary or middle school for registration.

Families are asked to attend the District Registration Day to verify a physical address with a current July/August utility bill or rental lease agreement for new families or families that have changed data only. This will also be a time to pay lunch money, Chromebook Fee and High School parking tags. These fees can also be paid online.

Students requiring immunizations will be able to obtain them at the District Registration Day. The immunizations will be provided by the Monroe County Health Department. Students entering eighth grade will be required to have a T-dap and Meningitis, along with all Seniors will be required to have the Meningitis shot as well. The cost will be $15; or no-cost if proof of Medicaid is provided. Clarity Healthcare and Mark Twain Behavioral Health will be on-site to assist with needs for students as well.

For any student playing fall sports there will be a Fall Sports Parent Meeting in the high school cafeteria on Sunday, August 11 at 6 p.m. All high school and middle school football, softball and cheer-leading parents are encouraged to attend.

Prior to school beginning, a lunch money deposit and technology deposit of $25 for the Chrome Book for grades 2-12 will be required. The new price for meals in grades K-4 will pay $1.10 for breakfast and $1.80 for lunch. Breakfast price for grades 5-12 is $1.20 and $2.00 for lunch. Parents can pick up or download online, Free and Reduced Price Meals applications for those interested.
