The Monroe City R-1 High School is hosting their annual basketball homecoming this week, February 3-7, with several activities planned. The theme this year is ‘Monroe City Panthers Will Knock You Off the Board!’.
This year’s homecoming attendants are Seniors, Madison Hadley and Antwuan Battle, along with Madelyn Meyer and Bryce Stark. Representing the Juniors are Hannah Wheeler and Matthew Barnes, the Sophomore class nominees are Mckinnley Meyer and Joshua Talton and the freshman class is Maddie Gomez and Reece Buhlig.
Each day the students will take part in different board game themed activities during advisory period. On Monday, students enjoyed a game of Monopoly; on Tuesday, there was an Operation game, Wednesday includes the game of Clue, followed by Thursday with Candyland.
Then on Friday, at 2:40, there will be a Pep Assembly led by the cheerleaders to cheer on the Lady Panther players.
The homecoming game against Bowling Green is set to begin on Friday, February 7, at 6 p.m. Homecoming Coronation will take place during halftime of the varsity girls’ game. There will be a dance to follow from 9-11:30 p.m.
