Several local youth organizations joined together on October 24 to take part in Make a Difference Day. Volunteers assisted those needing help with yard work and other small outside chores in the community.
Holy Rosary Church was responsible for the event. Organizer and Volunteer Donna Long shared, “Yes, we were able to have Make a Difference Day. We were able to help a small number. I suppose COVID-19 kept some from requesting help in one way or another.”
There were approximately 30 volunteers for the morning mission to help others. The volunteers were from Holy Rosary School and Church, The Monroe City R-1 R.L. Hawkins National Honor Society Chapter, and local Girl Scouts & Cub Scouts. The volunteers were split into four teams. Each team helped by raking yards and bagging yard waste, cleaning flower beds, and cleaning gutters.
