Downtown Monroe City has added another attraction to Main Street with a new business. Everything Under the Sun opened on August 3. Entrepreneur Brittnee Hinch, of Monroe City, recently opened the consignment shop located at 104 North Main Street. Hinch stated. “I’ve always dreamed of being a business owner. I first started doing consignment online in October of 2019, with the vision of opening a store.” Hinch explained when the space became available she decided to start her own business, adding, “I found the opportunity and followed my dream.”
Hinch shared the name of the store was simple, stating, “The name was inspired because of the variety of things I offer.” The front door welcomes patrons with bright sunflowers on the signage, Hinch said, “I love sunflowers, so I went with that theme.” The store offers sales, both in-store and on-line to customers.
Hinch also offers several booths for rent with a wide variety of items including clothing, household decor, antiques and everything in between. The front of the store offers clothing in all sizes on a large rack Hinch constructed herself. The rack is beautifully stained, adding a nice greeting as customers enter the store. The entrance also offers several signs and artwork on the walls, giving the store a cheerful atmosphere while browsing. Hinch stated, “I recently purchased more racks from a store closing in Hannibal. The racks will give the store more space to display items for sale.”
Hinch resides in Monroe City with her three children. She continues to follow her dreams and is working towards another goal of obtaining her Master’s in Business Administration. Hinch shared the first few weeks have been extremely busy, stating, “I had all my booths rented before opening and since opening several have called wanting to do consignment.”
