Weekly Challenge: Live with a purpose, live each day displaying peace and love in the midst of the worldly darkness.
As I look down Main Street, I note the constant changes. A piece of land that once had no buildings, to buildings being built, then torn down and now the continuance to have old ones remodeled and new ones erected. Roads from dirt, to gravel and upgraded to pavement, torn up, then repaved. Constant change, constant growth in one way or another.
I thought of all the life that has passed through this street. Passing through is what we all are doing. We can choose to add, rebuild, pave a new way or tear down our own lives.
After much prayer for our city, county, state, nation and world, including all the people passing through, I grieved for the ones who are only passing through with no real destination. I lifted up those who yet do not know Jesus and praised God for continuing to grasp their attention to experience His goodness.
Our destiny has to be Heaven for our passing through journey to truly mean anything. Anything else leads us to a road of hell. A road of destruction and emptiness. We can’t be true believers of Christ only in times of true despair or when we are feeling grateful. We must be the kind of follower that is planted, dedicated to daily prayer, not easily moved from Kingdom living.
Hell is a real place of emptiness, loneliness and despair. It is pain and hurt. It is simply the destination people choose if they do not follow God’s plan. Jesus already came for the sinners and is available to every breathing individual on this earth.
There is more to Godly living than salvation. There is healing, love, forgiveness, freedom, peace and so much more. Don’t wait to find out as you were passing through this earth, you missed the whole point. God has a plan for your life. It is your choice to walk in the blessing or walk in the curse. Although God never leaves us, we often leave Him.
God loves each and every one of us. He does not want any of us to perish. Passing through is so much more meaningful with Jesus and the Holy Spirit guidance.
As you walk through the Main Streets of life be mindful of which doors you are opening. Live as if you are Heaven bound, live knowing you were created with a purpose. Live in peace and in love.
Hebrews 12:1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
