Weekly Challenge: Set aside one hour each night of quality time with your family.

Taking the time to embrace the beauty of nature paints a canvas of peace in our hearts.

This week focus on the everyday schedules of your household. Find time to set aside for all family members to take a break from the influence of outside. Put down your phones, tablets, game systems and turn off televisions. Take the time to enjoy the company of each other.

Perhaps take turns telling about each one’s day, give thanks and praise to God for the increases and pray for any needs. Show love to one another. Have everyone tell what they like about each other. Discuss goals and visions each would like to have happen in their lives whether big or small.

Making quality time for each other can make a big difference in a family. Happiness, joy and peace can be found by doing what God has called us to do—LOVE ONE ANOTHER!!

As believers, we have a responsibility to give God our best. By taking the time to love your family is a way to give God your best. When we represent the Kingdom within our household, we build stronger foundations to withstand storms. Many households today operate in individual schedules, building only themselves and miss the mark of what God intended family to be as a whole.

Let your household represent God. The bible says for a husband to love his wife as Jesus love the church, and for his wife to respect her husband. Children are to obey their parents. All of these things must be done in line with scripture, love according to God’s way, respect according to God’s way and obey according to God’s way. There is only one way!!

1 John 4:20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

Ephesians 5:25-26 For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word.
