Weekly Challenge: Complete tasks even when you don’t feel like it.
It is easy to do things when we want to. To complete actions and overcome situations when we don’t says a lot about our character. This week try to do tasks according to spiritual guidance and the need. God created us to work and take care of the opportunities around us.
A task may include attending bible study, church or a meeting when you don’t “feel” like it, but will help keep you filled up in the spirit. Read your bible when you don’t “feel” like it, the enemy wants to hinder our growth through our feelings. Put down the social media entertainment when you don’t “feel” like it and pay attention to what is happening in the reality of your actual life.
Moving past letting our feelings rule us shows growth in our relationship with Jesus Christ. The enemy is tricky and uses our feelings, emotions and thoughts to try to get us to live according to our flesh.
There have been days I didn’t “feel” like cooking dinner, doing laundry and cleaning. These are tasks that most do not look forward to daily yet thousands of people get up and do them every day, not according to their “feelings”, but because they have to be done in order for a household to operate.
We must remember being able to go to work, church, bible study, clean the house or even purchasing groceries is truly a gift that we are able to do such tasks. It is an opportunity for us to grow with having the right attitude and character.
So, this week don’t face things with the negative outlook of I have to, but rather look at each task as an opportunity that you get to. Life can change in the blink of an eye, tomorrow is not promised.
Continue through life with the peace, joy and love Jesus Christ has given to us as we get the opportunity to live eternally together forever.
2 Corinthians 7:3 I do not speak to condemn you, for I have said before that you are in our hearts to die together and to live together.
1 Timothy 5:8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
Genesis 2:15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
