Weekly Challenge: Each day this week, try not to beat yourself up about any poor choices of your past. Let those negative feelings stay in the past. Greet each day as a new beginning with the strength of Jesus to do better than yesterday.
Let go of the dirt of your past and allow Jesus to turn it all into a new landscape. We have to let go of our dirt to step into our destiny God has for us.
This past week I have witnessed several acts of ugliness. When I experience these situations, I try to keep in mind “Hurt people, Hurt people.” We cannot begin to influence those around us if we ourselves are not healed. We have to let go of past hurts and pain, forgive and move forward. Jesus asks us to give it all to him.
After all, he took it ALL at the cross.
Sometimes we just hold on to the dirtiness of our past and just keep re-examining each lump as an excuse as why we can't move forward. Maybe it's not our fault of how we got the dirt but it is our fault if we refuse to let go and keep carrying around the excuses. Not letting go of dirt makes your soul dirty. It’s time for a spiritual cleansing.
There is no sin greater than another. All we have to do is commit ourselves to the Savior, Jesus Christ, and live everyday with the actions of Christ. This does not mean we won’t mess up, have to repent or change. We will do all these things, as Jesus becomes a greater part of your life, old ways will become the dirt you let go of and His ways will become beautiful in the landscape of your journey. It changes you, your community and brings peace in the strongest storms.
Praising God for all He does, for the most important moment you have is the one you’re in right now, yesterday's moments are gone and tomorrows are not promised. Let's make our moments beautiful with Jesus.
Next week is my birthday, people have asked me what I would like or if there is something I would want to do. In a celebration of the blessing of another year, I only want more time spent with my family making memories. I want to see my friends and family members grow closer to Jesus Christ, so our memories can be spent in the Glory of God. When I go to heaven I want to spend my eternity with all of my family.
So when I get asked this year, my reply will be: I want to know you have an active relationship with Jesus Christ and the fruits of that relationship are seen in your everyday lifestyle. There is no greater joy than getting to share the love of Jesus with another. Talking about Jesus excites me!!
Isaiah 63:1-3 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building.
1 Peter 4:11Those who preach must preach God’s messages; those who serve must serve with the strength that God gives them, so that in all things praise may be given to God through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and power forever and ever. Amen.
