Weekly Challenge: Live each day to hear the words WELL DONE faithful servant.
Each day we wake up, brand new, with a chance to choose what our actions and reactions will be. Each day has its own trials and challenges. As a born again believer, living with the characteristics of Jesus Christ and putting God first, our day should reflect what we portray to be.
God calls all his children to serve, regardless of gender, wealth, occupation and denomination. We are to be the church and demonstrate the love of Jesus as a faithful servant looking for the WELL DONE report card as we enter eternity.
Tomorrow is not promised, Jesus could come back this very second, next month or in years to come. Are you ready? Are the members of your family ready? Do they live as if they understand what it means to have Jesus at the Center of their lives?
The only thing any of us are taking to eternity is people. Our witness as a faithful servant expresses the true peace that comes with being a faithful servant. It displays the love of a heavenly father and encourages others to seek His face for their own lives.
Who do you turn to in times of trouble? What kind of advice do they give? Who do you know that you can count on for prayer and learning what God’s opinion is? Those are the people you want to be spending time with. Those are the people who truly care about you and your well being.
Take an intake of the kind of parent, child, employee and believer you are? Do you only call out in times of trouble? Do you only pray before meals? Do you only give time on Sunday mornings or perhaps its just holidays? Do you attend each week, but refuse to make the changes to be a faithful servant. The bible makes it clear: You will only be given the words WELL DONE or I DO NOT KNOW YOU.
Don’t wait till it is too late! Find a church family, let God love you and help you share love with others. Find true peace in the midst of storms and let Jesus shine through you. We don’t wait to go to Church when we are living right, we go to church to grow and increase our life. Healthy people don’t go to the hospital. If you don’t have a church home, I invite you to mine. Matthew 7:23 “Knowing the correct password—saying ‘Master, Master,’ for instance—isn’t going to get you anywhere with me. What is required is serious obedience—doing what my Father wills. I can see it now—at the Final Judgment thousands strutting up to me and saying, ‘Master, we preached the Message, we bashed the demons, our super-spiritual projects had everyone talking.’ And do you know what I am going to say? ‘You missed the boat. All you did was use me to make yourselves important. You don’t impress me one bit. You’re out of here.’
1 Timothy 4:3-5 The Spirit makes it clear that as time goes on, some are going to give up on the faith and chase after demonic illusions put forth by professional liars.
These liars have lied so well and for so long that they’ve lost their capacity for truth. They will tell you not to get married. They’ll tell you not to eat this or that food—perfectly good food God created to be eaten heartily and with thanksgiving by believers who know better! Everything God created is good, and to be received with thanks. Nothing is to be sneered at and thrown out. God’s Word and our prayers make every item in creation holy.
Psalm 100:2 On your feet now—applaud God! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence.
