Helen Evalene Robinson Hunter Enochs, 84, of Monroe City, passed away Saturday, December 14, at the Monroe City Manor, Monroe City.
She was born February 14, 1935 in Ralls County, the daughter of Rollie Richard and Sarah Helen Buffington Robinson.
Evalene was a 1953 Graduate of Ralls County Rural School, Center. As a young lady, she worked as a nurses aid at Kinzey’s Care Center, Monroe City. Evalene also cleaned Conway Lumber Company, of Monroe City. She later worked cleaning for Kulhman Diecasting and Pace Industries offices’ of Monroe City. She loved cooking, gardening, canning, embroidery and working seek a word books. She was famous for her vegetable soup, stuffed peppers and for her refrigerator sweet pickles and 14 day pickles. She loved sending cards and calling people on all special occasions. Most of all she loved spending time visiting with her family and friends.
She married Billie Ray Hunter February 14, 1955 and he preceded her in death May 08, 2009. With that union came two daughters LaDonna Rae Hunter Berry (Bob), Hunnewell, and Annette Marie Hunter Little (David) Monroe City. Also survived by five grandchildren Brian Berry, Christopher Little, Jennifer Darling (Joe), Ryan Little (Alaura) and Michael Berry. Five great grandchildren Corbin Darling, Mackenzie Darling, Dylan Darling, Hadley Darling and Ian Little. She is also survived by one brother Raymond Robinson (Joyce), Marceline; one sister Elizabeth Brown (Rex) of Perry; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Johnie Robinson and one sister Lettie Peery.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, December 20, at the Garner Funeral Chapel, Monroe City, Pastor Danny Kinzle and Fr. Greg Oligschlaeger will officiate. Burial will be held at the New Oakland Cemetery, Ralls County, Missouri. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City, Missouri. Active pallbearers will be Brian Berry, Christopher Little, Michael Berry, Joe Darling, Bruce Brown and Lance Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan, Alaura and Ian Little, Jennifer, Corbin, Mackenzie, Dylan and Hadley Darling, and Calvin and Dickie Brown. Memorials have been suggested to the Evalene Hunter Enochs memorial fund. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Garner Funeral Home & Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri.
