Children have fun learning basketball fundamentals at Monroe City Panther Basketball Camp.

Basketball Camp sign-ups are underway. The Monroe City Panther’s will host their tenth annual basketball camp in April and May for four different age groups. The camp is directed by boys basketball Head Coach Brock Edris and assisted by Coach Ed Talton.

Those attending can expect to receive age appropriate instruction of offensive fundamentals including dribbling, passing, shooting, triple threat, jump stops, utilizing pivot, one-on-one moves and scoring two-on-one. Defensive fundamentals will include proper stance, technique, footwork, rebounding and communication. The camp will teach kids teamwork and how to be a good teammate, while having fun learning about basketball.

There will be competitions which will include King of the Court for ages Kindergarten through fifth grade and King of the Court, Hot Shot and Lay Ups for the sixth and seventh grades only. Camp will be held in the high school gymnasium.

Those wanting to attend can submit a camp sign-up form, along with $30, and $15 for each additional child.

Each child attending camp will receive basketball instruction, camp t-shirt and an outdoor basketball. Forms should be turned in at least one week prior to camp to ensure each child attending can receive a t-shirt and basketball, however children will not be denied attendance the first day of camp.
