Thanksgiving

The Monroe City Ministerial Alliance invites the public to attend the annual Community Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 24 at 7 p.m.  This year we will meet at the First Baptist Church (FBC) to celebrate all we have to be thankful for as individuals and as a community.

Everyone is invited to share in the dinner provided by FBC beginning at 5 p.m. followed by the service at 7 p.m.  The Children’s Bell Choir will perform as well as the Monroe City Singers.  The Children’s Bell Choir is made up of children from the GLOW afterschool program and children from FBC.

This service is one of two services sponsored by the Ministerial Alliance each year and is the main opportunity for the community to contribute to the work of the Alliance.  This year the Ministerial Alliance has helped about 40 families: providing financial assistance, counseling, assistance with housing and for those ‘just passing through’ we have offered a meal, a bed and a tank of gas.  The Ministerial Alliance also are involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes to assist with the National Day of Prayer service and supporting other events in which the FCA is involved.

If anyone knows of a need in the community, please contact one of the pastors or church office’s and they will do their best to offer assistance.  The Ministerial Alliance give thanks for the opportunity to be involved in the community and for the generous support of the Ministerial Alliance, please join us in this service of thanksgiving for all the blessings everyone can enjoy.
