The Monroe City Chamber of Commerce will be kicking off the Christmas season in style on Saturday, December 5 with a Christmas Parade. As the Christmas season approaches neighborhoods are beginning to display their shiny festive lights and merry arrangements.
The Christmas Street Stroll planned for December 5 has been cancelled.
At 7 p.m. the Christmas parade will begin, themed “Christmas in Toyland.” Those wanting to participate in the parade can do so by lining up behind the BP Gas Station at 6:30 p.m.
On Saturday, December 12 and December 19, children can expect to see Santa Claus ride around town and greeting all the little ones. Be sure to have those hoping to see the jolly fellow in the cheerful red suit on the lawn, as Santa’s House will not be open this year due to COVID-19 precautions.
The Lighting Decorating Contest is underway throughout the town. Those wanting to be considered should know the contest will be judged on December 15.
There will be three different Chamber Script Money raffle giveaways. The first will be drawn on December 4 for $50 in Chamber Bucks, the next drawing will be on December 11 for $50 in Chamber Bucks and the last drawing will be on December 18 for $100 in Chamber Bucks. Those wanting to sign up can do so at local businesses.
