Fish Kill at Route J Reservoir Linked to Algal Bloom and Low Oxygen Levels
According to the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC), a recent fish kill at Route J Reservoir resulted in the death of several thousand fish, primarily gizzard shad. The cause was a large algal bloom, which led to critically low oxygen levels in the water.
