Life through a different Lens
Are you in the Christmas spirit? With changes in our lives and things not going our way sometimes, it is a blessing to still find the Christmas spirit and good in all things.

Life through a different Lens
In this time of Christmas wonder, let's remember the reason for the season. I heard a new song at church and it spoke of how the present is the presents. As my children grew up, it was all about the presents. I was the mom trying to make sure they were so surprised on Christmas morning. As I look back, and recall the nights of Reindeer food making and Santa cookies, letters to Santa and letters back to the girls.

The first time I went deer hunting, I was 11 years old. I was hunting with my older brother and my Dad. I was blessed with a beautiful 11-point buck. My heart was beating out of my chest, when I realized I had taken my first buck, I was excited, proud, thankful and sad. Yep, sad, I cried for the life I had taken. I didn't understand life at that time, but I knew he would never take another breath, but that is hunting. We are hunters and gatherers. Well, I am at least. God placed him here on this earth for us to harvest. He was nourishment to my 11 year old body and many other deer over my lifetime have been the same to me and my family. I don't think I ever cried again after that harvest, but this year, again, I harvested an 11-point buck and I felt bad for taking his life What is the connection? He is now going to be nourishment to my body again and it was a good hunt, maybe I am getting soft in my old age or something like that. What a good word in Hewbrews 11; Faith In Action Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
