Recent Bear Sightings in Centralia and Middle Grove Have Residents Swooning Recent bear sightings in Centralia the nearby Middle Grove and the latest sighting in the Cairo area have stirred up quite a bit of excitement—prompting everything from cautious curiosity to hurried backdoor exits and, yes, a few dramatic swoons. The Centralia Police Department confirmed that a brown bear was seen within city limits earlier Tuesday, with additional sightings reported in Middle Grove.
