Missouri Rural Electric Cooperative's Board of Directors has approved the refund of capital credits. The total amount of $395,922 will be refunded to the member-owners.
Former Monroe City Area Music Legend Helen Cornelius Dies at 83
Helen Cornelius, a former Monroe City area native who rose to national fame as a country music star and CMA award-winning vocalist, passed away on July 18 at the age of 83. Known for her smooth harmonies, heartfelt lyrics and groundbreaking work alongside duet partner Jim Ed Brown, Cornelius leaves behind a rich legacy that stretches from small-town Missouri to the heart of Nashville’s country music scene.
Monroe City Youth Track Series Marks Another Milestone Season
The Monroe City Youth Track Series wrapped up another strong summer, marking five years of growth and community spirit. Averaging around 100 young athletes at each meet, the series continued to foster excitement, energy and a sense of belonging for participants and their families.
