MONROE COUNTY — A juvenile is in custody following an assault with a pocketknife at Paris High School on the morning of Friday, August 29, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were notified of the incident at approximately 9:13 a.m., after one student reportedly assaulted another with a pocketknife on campus.

Two Vehicle collision claims life of two at the intersection of Highways 107 and 154 West of Perry
MONROE COUNTY, MO — A tragic collision on Saturday evening, August 23, 2025, claimed the lives of two Hallsville residents after their vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer at the intersection of Highway 107 and Highway 154, approximately six miles west of Perry. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a 2016 Ford Escape, traveling southbound, failed to yield and drove into the path of a westbound 1999 Kenworth tractor trailer.
