TAMMIE MARIE WELCH

Tammie Marie Welch, 64, of Palmyra, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 26, 2025. She was born on March 21, 1960, to John Wilson Smith and Barbara Ellen Smith. Tammie was a graduate of Monroe City High School and went on to have a dedicated career as a nurse at Westview Nursing Home in Center, Missouri.
Tammie was a member of the Monroe City Methodist Church and found joy in simple pleasures such as scrolling through Facebook, watching movies, and expressing her creativity through painting. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
She is survived by her mother, Barbara Smith of Palmyra, Missouri; one son, Jacob Welch (Tammy)of Hilliard, Florida ; one brother, Ronnie Smith of Monroe City, Missouri; three sisters, Candy Minor of Jacksonville, Florida, Dawn Smith of South Korea, and Melody Hughes (Jason) of Wentzville, Missouri; as well as four beloved grandchildren, Kayla Hunt, Taylor Welch, Hayden Welch, and Oakley Welch. Tammie was preceded in death by her father, John Smith; her husband, Sheldon Welch to whom she was married to since October 11, 1975; one son, Dana Welch; and her grandson, Tyler Parrish.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jason Hughes, Eddie Neff, Roy Smith, Josh Morsan, Jordan Kendrick, and Phillip Cheek.
A visitation will be held at Garner Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Andy Coon will officiate the service. A graveside service will follow at Andrew Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Monroe City Methodist Church.
Tammie’s warmth, compassion, and devotion to her loved ones will always be remembered. May she rest in peace.
