As a lifelong farmer, he nurtured the fields and cared for his beloved Angus cattle. His work ethic extended beyond the farm as he sold crop insurance, ensuring that his fellow farmers were protected against the whims of nature. Dwight’s skills also shone as a heavy machine operator for Simpson, where his precision and expertise contributed to many construction projects.
He often said, “If I hear music playing, I gotta dance,” and dance he did, with a spirit that was infectious. His feet tapped to the rhythm of joy, and his laughter was a melody that resonated in the hearts of those who knew him. Fishing for catfish or coon hunting with his Bluetick Coonhounds was a favorite pastime often sharing his catch and tales with friends.
A collector at heart, Dwight cherished his toy tractors and guns, each piece a story, a memory, a part of his journey. His sense of humor, and onery side were a testament to his playful spirit. Dwight’s presence was a comfort, his laughter always present and his stories a treasure trove of a life well-lived.
Family and friends were the cornerstone of Dwight’s world. His daily gatherings at Meyer Implement for coffee with his buddies were a ritual that he cherished, a time for camaraderie and shared wisdom. A fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, old westerns like Gunsmoke, bowling strikes, or savoring a classic Crown Royal were just a few of Dwight’s simple pleasures.
Dwight Wayne Shuck, a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him will be missed by all.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Couch, Lamar Utterback, John A. Hays, Donnie Hays, and Jeff Shuck.
