CECIL V. BASTIAN JR.

 Cecil V. Bastian Jr., of Hunnewell, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the Baptist Nursing Home in Shelbina, Missouri.
 Cecil was born June 10, 1932 the son of Cecil V. Bastian Sr. and Alice Bastian and grew up in Monroe County, where he attended Monroe City High School. On March 30, 1953, he married the love of his life, Daisy Elizabeth Yager. They shared 69 wonderful years together before her passing on July 25, 2022.
 A proud U.S. Army veteran, Cecil devoted most of his life to farminga vocation that reflected his strong work ethic and deep love for the land. He was a longtime member of the Hunnewell Methodist Church and a respected member of his community.
 In his younger days, Cecil enjoyed water skiing and had a zest for life. He took great pleasure in mowing his yard, enjoying good food, and spending time surrounded by family and friends.
 He is survived by his four children: Cecil Bastian III (Hollie) and Carl E. Bastian (Penny), both of Hunnewell; Debbi Griffin (Billy Jo) of Paris, Missouri; and Donna K. Bastian of Monroe City, Missouri. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren.
 He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Daisy; his sister, Meryle Borgers; his grandson, Joshua Bastian; his great-grandson, Tyler “Bubba” Parrish; and twin great-granddaughters, Daisy Mae and Sophie Grace Bastian.
 Pallbearers for the service were Aaron Bastian, Cecil Bastian IV, Thomas Bastian, Wesley Hendrix, Damien Hardwick, and Billy Joe Griffin.
 A visitation was held on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Garner Funeral Home & Chapel. Funeral services began immediately following the visitation and was led by Rev. Andy Coon. Graveside services took place at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hunnewell, Missouri.
 Cecil’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of dedication, love, and quiet strength will not be forgotten.
