JAMES E. CLARK

James E. Clark, 93, of Monroe City, MO passed away at 2:10 pm, Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Monroe City Manor Care Center in Monroe City, MO.
 Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, February 14, 2025, at the O’Donnell-Thurman Life Celebration Home in Monroe City, MO. Pastor Marty Smyser will officiate. Burial with full military honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55 will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO.
 Friends and Family are invited to James’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be Friday, February 14, 2025, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
 The family is being served by the O’Donnell-Thurman Life Celebration Home in Monroe City, MO.
 James was born on January 10, 1932, in Goss, MO to Earl Melvin Clark and Helen Victoria Wiseheart Clark. He was married to Velda E. Ogle on June 1, 1951, in Palmyra, MO. She preceded him in death December 3. 2024.
 Survivors include his children Lonnie (Nancy) Clark of La Vista, NE, Jimmy (Janet) Clark of La Vista, NE, Paula Clark of Macon, MO, sister, Doris Mae Williams of Scottsdale, AZ, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
 James was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and grandson, Jason Clark.
 James was a man of unwavering patriotism and had a generous spirit. He dedicated his life to service, both in the US Army and as a protector as an officer with the Hannibal police Department.
 For over a half century, James’s hands steered the wheel of trucks for PIE Nation way, Bastian, the railroad, Midland Milk Trucking, and the US Army, displaying his perseverance and work ethic. James was proud to have driven over 5 million miles accident free. His commitment to his country was mirrored in his active involvement with the American Legion and the Monroe City VFW, where he spent countless hours working on the building or serving breakfast. He also served as a past president of the Police Association.
 James’s kind and social nature meant he was always ready to lend a helping hand. Gardening, fishing trips to Canada, trips to Europe or simply watching a good St. Lous Cardinal game always brought enjoyment and good memories to James. His dedication to country, family and hard work will be forever remembered.
 James was Baptist by Faith.
 Pallbearers will be Dewayne Robinson, Gene Behring, Greg Ogle, Jerry Copenhaver, Phillip Potterfield, and Pat Turnbull.
 Memorial contributions may be made to VFW or American Heart Association.
