KATHERINE SUE WILPER

Katherine Sue Wilper, 84, of Monroe City, MO, passed away at 1:40 am, Monday, December 30, 2024, at Monroe City Manor Care Center in Monroe City, MO.
 A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the O’Donnell-Thurman Life Celebration Home in Monroe City, MO. Father Greg Oligschlaeger will officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Monroe City, MO.
 Friends and Family are invited to Katherine’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the funeral home.
 Arrangements are under the direction of the O’Donnell-Thurman Life Celebration Home in Monroe City, MO.
 Katherine was born on August 25, 1940, in Quincy, IL to Raymond Brinkman and Edith E. Stevens Brinkman. She was married to Gerald “Jerry” H. Wilper on May 13, 1961, in Quincy, IL. He preceded her in death May 1, 2020.
 Survivors include her children, Eric (Tena) Wilper of Kansas City, MO, Ryan (Jennifer) Wilper of St. Joseph, MO, daughter-in-law Sherry Wilper of Columbia, MO, sisters, Patricia (Wayne) Six of Westfield, MA, and Barbara (Jay) Meyer of Quincy, IL, 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
 Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Neal Wilper, sisters, Cynthia Brinkman and Mary Lee Brinkman.
 A graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School, Katherine began her career as a Lab Tech at Gardner Denver before embracing the cherished role of stay-at-home Mom. Her nurturing spirit led her to work at Holy Rosary School, Places and Casey’s in Monroe City.
 Katherine was a gentle person, whose kindness and loving nature touched all who knew her. She took great joy in caring for her family, and her cooking skills, especially her homemade cherry pie, were enjoyed by many. An avid reader and a fan of Neil Diamond, Katherine’s love for life was evident in her everyday activities. Her soft demeanor and the warmth she brought to every room will be deeply missed.
 Katherine’s legacy of love and kindness will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
 Katherine was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Monroe City, MO.
