Williams takes city attorney seat

The Council chambers were filled during the Sept. 6 meeting, City Attorney appointment passes.

On September 6, during the Mayor Long’s report, Attorney Williams asked to speak regarding the City Attorney Appointment. Williams stated, “I can do the job for the same amount Mr. Russell quoted of $24,000 per year, there wouldn’t be an issue with billing and I would be willing to do itemized billing if the City requested it.” Mayor Long then stated, “I would like to appoint Attorney Michael Williams as the new City Attorney.” The appointment was approved by a 4-2 vote with Painter and Osbourne voting nay.
Jerry Potterfield addressed the Board of Alderman during open forum to inform them the signatures needed were collected for the petition being sent to the Missouri State Auditor for the state audit process to be begin.
