Uganda Missionaries, Todd and Wendy Gilliland were guest speakers at the First Baptist Church (FBC) on the evening of November 27. The Gilliland’s, currently home on furlough in Vermont, Illinois came to give their testimony on the destiny God has led them to, to provide hope to the hopeless.
Head Pastor Chad McMath of FBC welcomed everyone and introduced their main speaker Todd Gilliland to the audience sharing there would be a love offering taken up to support the missions in Uganda. He encouraged everyone to stay afterwards for refreshments served in the church fellowship hall.
Gilliland opened up by explaining he was married to his wonderful wife Wendy, giving her the upmost credit for the mission work done in Uganda. They have three girls ages 15, 13 and 10 years old who also travel with them. Shortly after introducing his family Gilliland invited Connie Benson of Hannibal, to speak on how they met years ago.
Benson gave a testimony of her husband Pat, a financial advisor, who was working for the Dave Ramsey financial program at the time, met with Gilliland 10 years ago. Gilliland shared his desire to go to Uganda and how he felt led by God.
