A town hall meeting was held on November 16 which was open to the public to attend. The main topic was the Missouri Main Street program and determining the key to moving forward. There were approximately 25 people in attendance, which were mainly business owners or leaders in the community.
Keith Winge, Community Development Coordinator for the Missouri Main Street program, led the meeting with a slide show. The slide show covered several points of how the program works and gave statistics of other towns in Missouri where the program had increased the quality of the town.
Winge explained the Main Street Program is not controlled by one organization but is a community effort. It is a partnership between private sectors and public sectors. The four-point approach will be used. The first point is the design of the physical presence to have the heart of the town, main street to be appealing to those passing through.
