Monroe City High School (MCHS) student, Tim Dennison, a senior, has been chosen to be in the National American Choral Directors Men’s Choir. Dennison stated, “The audition was done in three parts, each part was done while recording yourself singing to send in to the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) website.” Dennison explained he first had to record his vocal range, next he had to sing an excerpt to an accompaniment picked from the ACDA and then prepare a solo to sing. All three parts of the audition are sent in for several directors to listen to and choose those for the choir. Dennison stated, “I auditioned for this choir my sophomore year, but was not chosen.”
Dennison will be performing on March 2 at the Kansas City Kauffman Center of Performing Arts for the National Concert. Dennison stated on performing in Kansas City saying, “I got lucky this year is really close to home.” The concert is performed and only held every two years at different locations all over the United States.
