The Missouri State Auditor’s office will be starting a state audit of the City of Monroe City in approximately two weeks.
Juie Moiden, of the Missouri State Auditors Division of Kansas City, addressed the Board of Alderman on January 3 explaining the entire process could take anywhere from six to ten months. Moiden introduced herself and co-worker, Richard Stuck, as the team who would be traveling to Monroe City to gather information and perform the audit.
Moiden shared the State Auditor’s office had received 221 valid signatures requesting the audit, which would cost the City approximately $25,0000-$35,000. She explained the cost would depend on the amount of time it would take for the auditors to complete the process. Moiden stated, “We will collect as much information as possible to take back to our office to try to cut down on the cost of the audit.”
