On Sunday, January 28 Carly Spalding was recognized for her achievements at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Banquet in Springfield, Mo.
The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame recognized five Cougar athletes from Columbia College and a coach as Special Achievement Award winners at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Enshrinement Presented by Killian Construction in Springfield. Of the five being recognized was Spalding, who made NAIA Softball First Team All-American in 2017.
Carly was a stand out athlete in Monroe City participating in basketball, softball & track. She had a dream of going to college and playing the sport she loved the most, softball. Her parent’s laugh when they say she got more offers in track than softball, but say there was no doubt what she had the most passion for. Carly made a decision to play for the Columbia College Cougars, NAIA.
Spalding attended the Ceremony with her parents, Jeff and Kim Spalding. Kim stated, “It was a great evening, we were also honored to watch 15 new people inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.”
Special Achievement Awards are given out to national champions, first team all-Americans, and other national award recipients on Missouri-based teams.
