Students and faculty gathered at the pole together to celebrate

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), at the Monroe City High School, held the See You at The Pole event on September 27 in the morning before school. The FCA is led by Mr. Ed Talton and Mrs. Dawn Skaggs. Parents, students and faculty gathered together to celebrate this year’s event theme We Cry Out with theme verse Hebrews 12:1-2. The group gathered on the front lawn near the flag pole. At 7:30 a.m., Michael Ryan gave the welcome. Tim Dennison followed with singing the National Anthem and later sang Amazing Grace, as the crowd joined him in song.
Next, Ryan explained the event first started in Burleson, Texas. He stated, “On the first official See You at The Pole event there were 45,000 teenagers meeting at the school flagpoles in four different states to pray before the start of school,” adding, “Today two million students in all 50 states and more than 20 countries take part in the event.”
