To give is better than to receive. This is the reflected image one employee of Monroe City Manor Care Center is being recognized for. Activity Aide, MacKayla Painter, has been going above and beyond to show the residents her job is more than just a paycheck. Painter took the time to make gift boxes filled with candy for each resident of the manor, along with a personalized note to each.
Painter’s job as an activity aide is to assist with planning and implementing activities for the nursing home residents. Painter helps encourage socialization, provides entertainment, relaxation and fulfillment of the residents’ days. By assisting the residents in activities this helps improve their daily living skills.
Family members of residents have noted the immense amount of love she shows while performing her job at work. To go the distance while caring for others helps make the residents of the home more comfortable and gives them an acknowledgement of feeling cared for.
