John R. Henderson

Recently, hometown native, John R. Henderson, published a book titled ‘Hick at Heart’. The book was created to “Bridge the gulf,” noted Henderson referencing the two very different lifestyles a person could experience living in the city verses the rural area. The difference between urban life and rural life is much different, something to experience if given the chance explains Henderson.
Henderson’s book titled “Hick at Heart” was published in the fall of 2018. Henderson explained, he was inspired to write the book stating, “Early in my teaching career, I received a National Science Foundation grant in order to participate in an “urban studies” program at State University of New York in Brockport, New York. There I realized I am one of few people these days who spent several years growing up in a rural community and then living the rest of my life in an urban setting.”
